U.S. Naval Officera Trousers.
    US Navy Officer's Trousers Era 1852 to 1871: Regulations called for Naval officer's to wear Dark Blue trousers. Full Dress Trousers were to have the rank appropriate width gold stripe; Undress Trousers were without gold stripe. Trousers are button fly front with side seam pockets with a cord tie in back. An optional Belt and Buckle back and front Watch Pocket are available at extra cost. Black metal buttons for suspenders and fly.

    Navy Officer's Full Dress Trousers are the Deluxe Dark Blue with side seam pockets, belted back and Gold Lace Stripe according to rank listed below:
       Captain - 1.5" Gold Lace Stripe
       Commander - 1.25" Gold Lace Stripe
       Lieutenant - 1" Gold Lace Stripe
       Master - 1/8" Gold Piping

    USMC (United States Marine Corps): Regulations called for Sky Blue trousers for fall, winter and spring. The French style pockets with corner buttons and the split back with cord tie adjustment are standard on the wool trousers. Back belt with buckle for adjustment is optional. For Privates, Corporals, Sergeants and First Sergeants order them without any piping/trouser stripe and for Officer's, Sgt Major, QM Sgt, Drum Major, Chief Musician and Musicians order them with the USMC piping.

U.S. Military Trousers for Navy and Marines
    USMC and US Navy Officer SUMMER TROUSERS: The summer white duck trousers used by both Marine and Navy Officer's are shown at left. Side seam pockets are featured, along with the split waistband in back, with cord tie for adjustment. There is no rank trim on the White Duck Trousers for either Marine or Naval Officers.

    The trousers come with the pant legs unhemmed and raw inseam length of 34.5" is standard. Pewter buttons for the double front suspenders are supplied, but not sewn on.

Period Drawers / Long John Bottoms - Men's

    The drawers on your left side are what is offered on this page. These drawers come in two styles; short and long.

    The Long Drawers are for 1850s up until near the turn of the century. They are to approximately ankle length. These are offered with stirrups to hold the leg down, for an additional price.

    The Short Drawers are for the 1700s through the 1850 (pre Civil War), and for Mounted use up until near the turn of the century (1890s). They come to below your knees, which makes the good for use by horseman and cavalry. It allows for less bulk down your leg under your boot. Not shown is casing with ribbon ties, to hold pants down. The casing with ties is and additional charge. With the military theses Drawers / Long John Bottoms were private purchase.

     These are made in a white good weight cotton muslin, band waist band, with button up the front and a cut "V" in back for adjusting for comfort.

     Extra Measurements;  Length: For the SHORT DRAWERS from natural waist (out-seam at the height of the belly button) to 3" below the knee cap (middle of calf muscle). For the LONG DRAWERS from the natural waist to the ankle.

     Options: 28" to 44" waist. With or without casing and ties ($10.00 additional). Stirrups going under arch, to hold legs down ($10.00 additional). Plain straight front or "V" front waistband or Quilted waistband with "V" in front ($30.00 additional). All styles include "V" in rear with tie to adjust.

    Long sleeved, ankle length Unionsuit / Long Johns, available in red or white. 100% winter weight cotton. Garment is larger than you would expect, to allow for shrinkage. It will fit properly after the first washing, so order your proper size.

    These do not have the flap in back, which whould only get in the way. They have a verticle opening that you pull aside and sit through; which keeps it out of the way.

    The come really long, they should fit the tallest of people.
