M1898

    A branch colored stripe in the appropriate size for your rank can be added to the 1898 trousers if the customer desires. Available in Foot style only.

    Leg stripes were not worn on the 1899 khaki trousers. The double button style waistband to support the suspenders is standard with the buttons sewn on. As an option, belt loops can be added. If this option is chosen, the waistband buttons are positioned on the inside. Brown laces are included.

  M1885: leggings were short and only extended about halfway between the ankle and the knee. Currently Not Available.

  M1889: Brown (Tan) Leggings were also short (12" High) and only extended about halfway between the ankle and the knee. Discontinued, only 2 pair of size 2 left, No Others Available.

  M1894: Brown (Tan) Leggings (Adopted February 20, 1894). These are the taller leggings and are nominally 16" high. They are made from brown cotton duck. Currently Not Available.

  M1895 Foot: Brown Leggings (Adopted December 9, 1895) nominally 12" high. These are made according to regulation with reference to marked originals. They are available in the three original sizes: numbered 1 (12" inches front), 2 ( inches front) and 3 ( inches front), as well as the later (WWI) sizes 4 and 5. These are correct in color, weight and weave of canvas, leather and metal fittings. It is very difficult to tell these from the originals, as everything is correct down to the machined brass lacing studs.

  M1895 Mounted: Brown Leggings (Adopted December 9, 1895) Same pattern as the M1897.

Godey's September 1869

    The Long Drawers are for 1850s up until near the turn of the century. They are to approximately ankle length. These are offered with stirrups to hold the leg down, for an additional price.

    The Short Drawers are for the 1700s through the 1850 (pre Civil War), and for Mounted use up until near the turn of the century (1890s). They come to below your knees, which makes the good for use by horseman and cavalry. It allows for less bulk down your leg under your boot. Not shown is casing with ribbon ties, to hold pants down. The casing with ties is and additional charge. With the military theses Drawers / Long John Bottoms were private purchase.

     These are made in a white good weight cotton muslin, band waist band, with button up the front and a cut "V" in back for adjusting for comfort.

     Extra Measurements;  Length: For the short drawers from natural waist (out-seam at the height of the belly button) to 3" below the knee cap (middle of calf muscle). For the long drawers from the natural waist to the ankle.

     Options: 28" to 44" waist. With or without casing and ties ($10.00 additional). Stirrups going under arch, to hold legs down ($10.00 additional). Plain straight or "V" waist band or Quilted "V" waist band ($30.00 additional).

    These do not have the flap in back, which whould only get in the way. They have a verticle opening that you pull aside and sit through; which keeps it out of the way.

    The come really long, they should fit the tallest of people.
