    M1832 Enlisted Dragoon Coatee: Dragoons received unique Dress Coats with a very short tail- called a "Coatee". Coat features our 20 oz Dark Blue Wool as standard. The 3" high collar is yellow wool with yellow mohair lace surround and closes completely in front. Sgts and Staff Sgts get two lace loops on the collar.

    Correct Engineer buttons are supplied ready for you to sew on. Machine stitched buttonholes. Branch colored cotton front lining, black cotton in back with natural cotton sleeve lining. Rank chevrons were not worn on Engineer Dress Coats until 1851. Five year service chevrons were. If service chevrons are ordered they are placed "point up". Yellow Cloth Engineer Epaulets have brass crescent and are priced separately.

Sewing is done by machine to keep costs down (except where hand sewing is required) and most do not show externally. Some items offer hand sewing on exposed stitching (such as buttonholes) for an additional cost.

U.S. M1832 Foot Trousers, Winter

    M1832 Foot Trousers: The trousers used by enlisted US Army Foot soldiers during the Mexican War were the model adopted in 1833. Trousers for enlisted soldiers are Sky Blue wool with drop front design without pockets. Cord tie in the back for adjustment. Pewter buttons are sewn on in the double front button pattern for use with our #1907 suspenders.

    Trousers are left unhemmed so that you can finish them the length you want. Raw inseam length is 34 inches.

    The Winter Uniform (Coat and Trousers) was authorized for use from October 1st through April 30th.

    M1832 Mounted Trousers for Dragoons: Trousers for Dragoons are Sky Blue wool with an extra layer of wool on the inseam for riding. Drop front design without pockets. Cord tie in the back for adjustment. Pewter buttons are sewn on in the double front button pattern for use with our #1907 spenders.

    Privates and Corporals were to have one 3/4" yellow wool stripe. Sergeants were to have two 3/4" yellow stripes with a 1/4" window between them. These trousers were used by Dragoons until 1851.

    Trousers are left unhemmed so that you can finish them the length you want. Raw inseam length is 34 inches.
