U.S. Enlisted and NCOs Frock Coat (Union)  including Berdan Sharpshooters and Marine Corps     All frockcoats have a raw bottom skirt edge as per original uniforms.     M1861 US Enlisted Frockcoat: The trimmed enlisted Civil War uniform frockcoat was the regulation dress for Infantry, Heavy Artillery, Engineers, Hospital Stewards and Ordnance Dept during the war. The most famous of these was probably the Iron Brigade. It looks especially grand with the addition of the brass shoulder scales. Ours is made using our quality 19 ounce dark blue field service wool. Regulations call for the coat to reach one half the distance from the hip to the knee, however, most period photos show the coat was generally made with a somewhat longer skirt than regulation. Standard skirt length on our coat is about 3/4 of the distance from hip to knee. You may cut it shorter if you desire, as the hem is left raw per originals. The coat body is lined with natural muslin to the waist, and has an inside left breast pocket and two pockets in the folds of the skirt. Optional padding and quilting of the chest area is available, as are several alternate authentic lining materials. All frockcoats have 9 button front with sleeves having functional cuffs closing with two small buttons. US General Service Eagle buttons are supplied with the uniform but not sewn on. Made in the USA!     Branch Trim: Artillery - Red; Berdan Sharpshooters - Green Coat w/Lt. Blue Trim; Engineer - Yellow; Hospital Steward - Crimson; Infantry - Lt. Blue; and Ordnance - Crimson.     The Musicians trimmed enlisted M1861 frockcoat was the regulation dress for Infantry and Artillery Musicians during the war. It looks especially grand with the addition of the brass shoulder scales. Except for the musicians trim, it is the standard trimmed enlisted frock coat.     United States Sharp Shooter Frockcoat/ Berdan Sharp Shooters Type 1: frockcoat is made from dark green wool, and has emerald green piping. The body is half lined with brown polished cotton, the sleeves with natural cotton. This frockcoat has a 9 button front, sleeves have functional cuffs with two small buttons. US Eagle General Service buttons are supplied with this uniform but not sewn on. USSS Berdan Chevrons are available for an extra charge. The chevrons are light green on dark green wool background. Made in the USA!     USMC Enlisted Undress Frockcoat: is made using our 19 ounce dark blue field service wool with half lining in black cotton and natural sleeve linings. A deluxe grade of wool is offered at additional charge. Per USMC Uniform Regulations, the scarlet (red) welt is around the bottom of the collar only. Functional cuffs close with 2 buttons. Reproduction 1855 US Marine buttons are supplied with this uniform. Made in the USA!     USMC Civil War Era Enlisted Full Dress Coat: is made using our 16 ounce Deluxe dark blue wool and features a full body lining in black Polished cotton and natural sleeve linings. Shoulder Scales as seen in the photo are not included, bur available for an additional charge. Per USMC Uniform Regulations, the narrow scarlet (red) welt surrounds the collar and accents the cuff detail. Sleeves are tube style meaning they do not unbutton. Re-strikes of the 1855 US Marine buttons are supplied with this uniform. Made in the USA! The backing is of the same wool as our uniforms are made from, so there is no noticeable color difference. They were worn by units such as the Iron Brigade and others.     The Enlisted and NCO are the same except for the size. The NCO Staff add the brass rivets. The USMC (Marine Corps) are the same as the Enlisted and NCO except that the are the largest and have fringe plates to hold the fringe.     NOTE: Except for the USMC shoulder scales, the ATTACHMENT SET is NOT INCLUDED with the shoulder scales and is sold separately.
