Shoulder Boards

    Shoulder Boards: This is the embroidered rank insignia normally worn on the Fatigue Coat (Frock Coat). It is similar to the Civil War shoulder boards, except some branches were in Silver Bullion.

    M1836 Shoulder Boards:

    M1839 Dragoon "Shoulder Boards": are not like the shoulder boards of the other branches. They are similar to the enlisted shoulder scales, except with black wool on the body with the brass crescent and gold bullion edge. They were used until 1851.

    M1846 Shoulder Boards:

     Shoulder Boards are NOT included in the base price of our coats, but are available for an additional cost. Supplied loose (not attached), can be sewn on for additional amount at the time the coat is purchased.
