Hooded and non hooded capes, short
being hip in length, medium being knee length and long, being 4-6" from the
ground.
Capes were wool, velvet
and velveteen, with matching or contrasting cotton lining.
Material: availability depends on time of
year and the textile companies. Usually Corduroy, Wool or Velvet. Call if
you are interested in other materials or colors not listed.
Trim: is usually in black or contrasting
color of choice, in braiding and/ or fringe.
Closure: can be a tie at top of neck with
tassel, 2 buttons with connecting cloth tab (this leaves a space/gap between
the sides of the opening) or frog plus hook and eyes.

- Neck: Around the neck (Item 3 from measurement chart).
- Bust/Chest: Around the chest (Item 4 from measurement chart).
- Waist: Around the natural waist (Item 14 from measurement chart).
- Length: Length you want the cape from base of neck (not on measurement chart). IMPORTANT MEASUREMENT.
- Height: (Item 1 from measurement chart).

Our CIVILIAN CAPE W/COLLAR, often called a Mantle or Opera
Cape. The Standard Cape length extends to the fingertips, longer lengths can be specified at extra cost.
It is similar to the mounted style greatcoat cape with lay-down collar.
The civilian cape is made from quality Military weight woolens for warmth. A
heavy black cotton lining is standard, with two inside hand size pockets. The front is closed by
means of a single black "frog" and hook and eye at the collar or with 5, 7
or 9 cloth
covered buttons.
This garment is a very stunning addition to any civilian impression when worn
during the Spring and Fall evenings. This cape can be used for Civil War as well as much
of the rest of the Victorian period. It can be used by Ladies, Gentlemen and
Officers.

and All Civilian Clothing (Coats, Pants & Vests) as well as Many Large and Tall size
items take 9 to 11 weeks for delivery; UNLESS the item has a delivery time listed, then that is the delivery time.
Most other clothing (WHITE Cotton Shirts, Cravats, Suspenders, Felt Hats, etc.) take 2 - 4 weeks for delivery.
