Ladies Morning / Night Cap #1

This is a great morning cap. I use them at home. You'd be surprise what you don't see, that tend to go towards your inside ear while sleeping. Also great when at reenactment events, when you might be disturbed in the middle of the night. Or in the morning when you dress and need to just have that first cup of tea or coffee, before starting on your hair.  Also keeps your hair down, so it does not tend to stand out. Dates back to pre Civil War and on past the Civil War to the turn of the century with older women.      The cap part in back is just like a prairie bonnet, except it does not have a ruffle on the end. It comes down and around the bottom of the skull. The front flat hanging part, is approx. 3" wide and hangs down approx. 8" past the back bottom bonnet part. It looks the same on both sides. One side has a button and one has a button hold, so as to button under the neck, or you might just want it to hang as is.      You could sew a ribbon underneath to tie, instead of button it, if you like it hanging down. I love mine. Night/ Mourning/ Cleaning Cap          This dates to pre Civil War to post Civil War. Great for those that do living history in doors, with cooking and cleaning for the public. This is what a woman would be wear in case she was caught doing her chores or her neighbor stopped by.      This is my favorite night cap for those creepy little creatures at night and for those mornings when your hair is everywhere and when you feel you need that cup of tea or coffee before you work on your hair.      This cap is very comfortable.  The back is a full cap that goes to approximately the end of the back of the skull, like a prairie bonnet with out ruffle. The front is approximately 3" to 4" wide and drops down just enough to cover the ears.
