Officer's Civil War & Indian Wars Hat Cords

Hand Twisted     This is the Officer's Hat cord for the Hardee hat and Slouch Hats. Regulations call for a Gold and Black hat cord for all officer's except Generals who wear all gold, with the gold being gold bullion. It was used for both the Civil War & Indian Wars. There is also a Non-Regulation Hat Cord of Gold Bullion and Branch Colors available for Officer's of the Artillery, Cavalry and Infantry. Staff and Field Officers, Regulation: Black Silk and Gold Bullion hat cord. On some of these the acorn is reversed with a gold bullion tip and black netting. This hat cord is available either in machine braided or hand twisted. The hand twisted is thicker cording. General Officers, Regulation: Gold Bullion hat cord for all Generals. Artillery, NON-Regulation:  Red Silk and Gold Bullion hat cord. Cavalry, NON-Regulation:  Yellow Silk and Gold Bullion hat cord. This one looks very much like the Generals and you have to look close to see that there is yellow silk and it is not all gold bullion. Confederate Officer's Collar Rank Insignia and Sleeve/Kepi Lace

Confederate Officer's Collar Insignia (Rank)     This is the collar rank insignia worn by Confederate Officers. They are sold in pairs, one for each side of the collar. The General's Deluxe Collar Halves have the insignia embroidered right onto the buff material to be used for the outside of the collar. To use these you need to remove the collar, replace the outer material and the replace the collar on the coat.     Backing Colors available: Light Blue - Infantry; French Blue - Infantry; Yellow - Cavalry; Red - Artillery; Black - Medical or Militia; Buff - Staff and ALL GENERALS. Same braid is used on both Confederate Officer sleeves and caps. Two styles are available- 1/8" Soutache and 1/8" Extra Rich FLAT Braid. The Soutache is the standard braid on our Confederate Officer sleeves and caps.     Both are authentic for the period. The Extra Rich FLAT braid is a little more shiny since it reflects the light better. Sorry, we do not offer a diagram or instructions of how to sew this on a sleeve.
