U.S. Civil War Enlisted Hat & Cap Insignia       Civil War troops wore insignia on their hats and caps to designate their Branch, Regiment (5/8") and Company (1"). They were more prevalent at the beginning of the war as they became less popular as the war went on. There were made of stamped brass. Our reproductions are duplicates of the originals. They are not offered as pre-made chevrons, as no original examples of pre-made confederate chevrons exist or have been documented. They are available in two price levels for Artillery, Cavalry, Engineers and Infantry branches: cotton twill tape and worsted wool braid. NOTE: Ordnance Sergeant Chevrons are available in Crimson ONLY. Note: Ordnance Department is available in cotton twill only. Specify Branch: Artillery, Cavalry, Engineers, Infantry or Ordnance.    Civil War Confederate (C.S.) Enlisted Uniform Buttons     These are the same brass buttons that come on our enlisted and NCO Civil War uniforms, plus some that are not available with on our uniforms. They are brass buttons with a wire loop on the back.     They come in three sizes:   Small for Cuffs, Vests, Enlisted Shelljackets and Greatcoat Capes in 1/2" or 5/8" and   Medium for Coats in 3/4" and   Large for Coats in 7/8".
