Girl's Pinafore Dress, Style B & C |
|

Girls Dress Style B |

Girls Dress Style C |
Girl's / Child's Dress
Although not totally correct it's the most used dress
on the market. Pinafore dress, which is really two dresses put together. Another good simply pattern
for the re-enactor child. This fits from the mid. to late 1860's till past turn of the century.
Style B, The top piece, on your left of each drawing, is a sleeveless dress, that
buttons down the back with a ruffle on the shoulder, and as you can tell from the drawing a longer style waist.
The dress on the right with the long sleeve is the dress that is put on first, and can be worn by itself, if
desired. It buttons down the front and has a collar and cuffs. You can request drawstring or button cuffs.
This style is more for the older child. Fits size 4 to 12.
Style C, is a very cute little pinafore. You see this one on more of the younger
children. They are both pinafores, yet different in style. This style comes in sizes 2 to 12. The
difference in this one vs. the one above, is that the dress part is a pull over and buttons in back on the yoke.
(NOTE) The outer dress can have an open back or sewn back (as in drawing) below the buttons. The under dress
comes with elastic wrist band or you can requested gathered loose cuffs or gathered drawstring cuffs.
Between Style B and style C, is the dress in style B does not come with tucks,
whereas the other style C comes with one pair, (2) tucks for growth.
You can have either one in a solid color and the other a matching color print.
The idea of the pinafore was to let the child play in the long dress, then added the top
piece for company or special occasions, whereas to hide the dirt from play. The overall length is to mid calf.
Add bonnet, should be below. Solid, print
or both like below. Need age and the circumference around the head.
No pocket, or one or two pockets /
|
| The two prototype Pinafore dresses are
Sold. |
| The first one, B (1), is a size girls 4 with elastic around bottom of sleeve,
and round peter pan collar. Pull over, in an abstract design of shades of medium to dark blues, with dashes of
pink, great for hiding dirt. The top piece is white cotton button top back, yet is an open back for freedom to
run. The ruffle on shoulder is made of cotton lace, with a wide row of lace at the bottom along with tucks. This
one has a cute little padded brim bonnet in matching color of the dress. |
Sold |
| The second one, B (2), a longer size 4. Round peter pan collar, full long
sleeves with wrist band, and a small little dark blue trim on collar and wrist band. Off white in color with
dark or navy blue design. The over dress is a solid cotton blue, and you can see is more of a waist length
top vs. a yoke type. Buttons down back and is a closed back. |

Girl's 3 Piece Fancy Zouave Period Outfit (Jacket, Bodice/Blouse & Skirt) |
|

Jacket |

Bodice / Blouse |

Skirt |
The drawings are to give more of an idea of were the seams are,
whereas the pictures are of our prototype. As with all our custom clothing there are no two
pieces alike, so there will be modifications, according to colors and age of child.
Although the drawing of the skirt, is not that well like as the pleated or
gathered skirt with the pointed waist band as shown in the pictures below.
The skirt can have a hoop added or
worn with a ruffle slip. It buttons in back, and can be gathered or pleated.
The waist
band is high up and pointed in front. The bottom will have tucks. Piping & or
lace around the waist band. Buttons in back. Pockets can be added to be
hidden style, (in the seams) or to show, with trim.
The jacket will have trim, rather piping
braiding or lace to be decorative, to outline of the sleeve
and around the outer edge. Of course the standard drop sleeves.
The blouse, there are two styles; Style "F" is the
blouse that buttons straight down the front with one or two tucks / pleats on the side or a row of lace
down each side. Has a ruffle lace stand up band collar or peter pan
collar and long sleeves with wrist cuffs. Ties at waist,
which is great for those little girls that have trouble keeping their blouse in. So when they play, you
can take it out and tie it over the top part of skirt waist.
The second blouse, Style "C", is like the men's civilian pull
over shirt. It buttons part way down the front, & is a pull over, with light pleated front and stand
up collar, or peter pan collar. Great if you have a younger brother that you can pass it on to.
No drawstring at waist.
Optional: Pockets, style of blouse. And rather
or not the skirt and jacket match or contrast, like shown below.
Materials we suggest cotton and cotton blends, Prints & solids, if
you'd like something different, e-mail Frances at azrahist@aol.com.
Give two choices of color and a shade, such as light, medium and dark.
For sizes larger than a Girl's 16, order the
Ladies 1860s Zouave Dress.

Girl's Dress #5,
0711-Homestead |
|

Girl's Homestead
with optional Apron |
Great child's or young ladies dress. This is the same dress as the Ladies Camp/ Work Dress #1 (0711-Homestead), except made in
girl's sizes
4 to 16. It is thought of as being a Civil War dress yet it goes from pre Civil War up
until the early 1870's as people moved more
to the west.
NOTE: This dress is very full, it is NOT for
someone that
are concerned about a small waist look or that tailor look. It is great for those that do not like a confining dress or
for unconfined movement, such as playing. By adding a half apron you can give the waist of this dress a more defined appearance.
This is a camp or play dress. It can be made to be plain /simply, yet we do like to add a little trim
for contrast and appearance. Also very good for those that do
the out back/ country re-enacting and you don't want to wear a hoop or take a chance on your nice day dresses
getting dirty or worn.
Although you can add a two bone hoop and over hoop slip and dress it up for evening wear.
This is gathered at waist with waist band or can
be full at waist with an apron to define your waist. Drop sleeves and a large (tall) ruffle at bottom.
Straight sleeves or ruffle at the bottom of sleeve cuff and piping at neck
instead of collar.
Optional; With wrist ruffle or straight sleeve. With
or without waist band. Apron or not, in white cotton or contrasting color with tucks and with
one or two pockets. With matching or contrasting bonnet.

Young Woman's 3 Piece #6, The Randy |
|
 |
This dress was a special made dress for a special young lady, so we named it after her. We
designed and signed the style rights. This is a 3 piece dress that can be worn many ways. Dates run from the
late 1850s
thru late 1860s. It is intended for use by Girl's of about age 12 through
Young Ladies of Debutante age (about 16). Although women older have liked
this design.
The skirt is pleated, with hook eyes or buttons in back at waist band. This is just a
simply skirt, that can be worn with any other top/ bodice you like.
The blouse/ bodice buttons down the back, and has pleats down the front. It has a stand
up collar and wrist band. In the picture the wrist band and collar are made
of the skirt material or you
can have it also a solid color to go with other outfits. It's hard to see yet, there are four flounces on each sleeve,
(gathered areas). At 3 points on each sleeve are large matching bows, that can be easily remove for a different look,
and cleaning. Drop sleeves.
Corselet, is what you see as the waist
band and shoulder straps. There are a set of hook and eyes sent to adjust to the corselet to hook
and eye onto the top of the
shoulders of the bodice for comfort and hook and eyes in back. There's a
large bow in back that drops more than half way down the skirt. The waist
band comes to a point at top and bottom. All around the waist area is a ruffle pleated
border on the edge as you can see
and a very tiny black trim outlining. This is lined and padded to stay in place. The shoulder straps are lined,
wide at top as they were then, with a curve outward, that also have ruffle pleated and tiny outline trim added to this
area.
This dress is highest price day dress, since as you can tell has a lot of detail work on it.
This is our NEW & popular day dress and is very beautiful.
Optional; Solid color bodice or matching cuffs and neck band/
collar ? Print or plaid
for skirt & corselet to match skirt or contrasting color ? Flounce
bodice sleeves, or simply full sleeves ? Band collar or Peter pan collar?
An additional $ 25.00 for skirt lining. And
extra for a dust strip. "Call for additional information"

Girls 1870s & 1880s Day or Evening Bustle Dresses |
|
 |
This bustle dress/ 2 piece, can be worn from 1870s thru the 1880s.
Although this dress is designed to be worn with the large bustle and
slip. Those can be added by calling till, their up on the website. The top
like jacket bodice, is pointed in front with a little gathered ruffle look in back.
Buttons down front. Long 3/4 full sleeves, yet can be made longer and cuffed if you like.
The top shorter skirt will have material
or lace ruffle on the end, along with the lower skirt. And lace added to the
ruffle collar. We like to do as they did
and rearrange the dresses to never look like another. The bottom skirt
I personally like the street length instead of train, for it's easier to
move around in.
This dress can be made to fit a variety of images, from the everyday woman up through
a wealthy upper class woman, depending on material and trim. Prices vary according to the materials chosen and
the amount of work that goes into making each dress.
We do have the have the slip with the train that goes with this dress, although we
haven't had the time to add it, along with the large padded bustle, which is cotton shell with poly fill,
instead of horse hair.
Suggestion; When ordering it's best to
order the bustle at the same time to get proper length, or send your bustle
for us to fit over. Also this is very beautiful in drapery material.
NOTE; We now carry the young ladies size
12 and up. Although it's at the same price due to the labor involved.
Materials: can range from cotton, drapery, and taffeta. Call or e-mail Frances to discuss your needs and desires.
Measurements needed:
- Height: With shoes you will be using (Item 1 from measurement chart).
- Bust/Chest: Around the chest (Item 4 from measurement chart).
- Waist: Around the natural waist (Item 14 from measurement chart).
- Stop Sign: From center of base of neck to the middle of wrist.
