19th Century Boy's Trousers / Pants

Knickers Trousers |
Boys trousers, just like dad's. Made with button fly, "V"
cut back, metal front and suspenders buttons. Made of twill, poplin &/or medium weight material,
what seems to be available at time of order.
Knickers are below knee cap with elastic or period style band & button under
knee, what you feel will be most comfortable for child. Also made of the same top/ waist cut and material
as the above trousers.

Broadfall / Drop Front
Boy's Trousers / Pants (1840s & 1850s)

Drop front (wide fall/broad fall) trousers are the earlier style of pant closure.
This is the same type of closure that is used on U.S. Navy Pants. They are especially good for use in 1840's
- 1850's impressions for civilians and military, although some would have been seen during the American Civil
War and possibly after. Period trousers also have a 1" higher rise than today's pants and should be worn
loose.
These pants have double needle stitching (like Levi's) and therefore are not 100% authentic.
They come in:
Natural: 9 ounce natural (unbleached) 100% cotton drill.
Normally in Stock.
Grey, Dark: 10 ounce 100% cotton denim.
Normally in Stock.
Black 14oz 14 ounce 100% cotton denim with all black threads (like period denim).
Normally in Stock.
If we are out of a "Normally in Sock" Size (which happens at times)
it can take 4 to 6 weeks for delivery. If you need a "Normally in
Stock" Size in a hurry, call first to make sure it is in stock.

Boy's Double (Split) Front Suspenders |

These double front suspenders (braces) are made for young boys, up to
about 10 years old. They are made of elastic webbing and are adjustable by means of a friction clasp on each
strap and have split front leather button tabs. These also feature the crossed "X" pattern back
to help keep the suspenders from falling off your shoulders. As they are elastic suspenders they are not
actually correct until about the late 1880's, although they are a good choice of suspenders for younger boys
doing earlier impressions, if you are willing to sacrifice some authenticity.
For older and larger boys, used the men's suspenders. |

Infant's Christening Dress

This is an infant's dress and/or Christening dress. It is for girl's or boys.
I have a picture of my father taken in 1906 dressed in one of these.
We will offer some other styles if there is enough interest. We can get a
1900s pattern from Past Patterns and there is another pattern available from
Butterick.
