C.S. Enlisted and NCOs Sack Coat (Confederate)

    The Confederate Sack Coat falls into two categories. Government Issue and "Made at home". Although the Shelljacket was by far the most commonly issued, the loose fitting sackcoat was indeed provided by the Confederate Government on a limited basis. Primary difference between a sack coat and the shell jacket is the cut of the body. The sack coat is cut looser in the waist area than a shelljacket, which has a tapered waist. Our standard length is similar to the Union Sack Coat. However, shorter versions can be made also. Coat is available either unlined or with a natural muslin lining. The standard coat is without branch of service colors on the collar and cuffs. Colored trim can be added to the collar and cuffs at a small additional cost. Both the lined and unlined versions have an inside left pocket. Coat comes with a 7 button front, with other numbers of button fronts are available.

    This coat is available in Brown Grey, Medium Grey, Richmond Grey or Tan Butternut and either extra cost Cadet Grey or Wooljean (Wooljean requires FULL LINING) in our standard 19 ounce field service wool. CSA buttons are supplied with the coat, but not sewn on. Other buttons available at extra cost. The wood button is a very good choice if going with the Wooljean cloth fabric.

    Branch Trim: Artillery - Red,  Cavalry - Yellow, Infantry - Sky Blue or French Blue, Militia - Black.

    Chevrons are not included with uniforms, whether pictured or not, but can be added for an additional charge.
