     Fine quality reproduction of the M1902 Bell Crown Hat. Dark blue wool with leather visor. This hat (untrimmed) can also be used as a Civil War and Post Civil War Navy hat, as it is the same style as the non-regulation hat worn by some naval officers (sometimes referred to as the pilots hat / cap).

    Used By: At various times this hat has been used by: Police Departments, Fire Departments, Railroad Conductors, the Army, the Navy, the Coast Guard, Lighthouse Keepers and probably others.

    UNTRIMMED hat (NO chin strap or buckle, NO buttons, NO branch insignia and NO hat band.

    Artillery and Infantry Trimmed: versions are for information only. We no longer have any of the Artillery or Infantry hat bands available. They were originals and there are no more.

    Hat Band (Cavalry Only): The cavalry cap bands are available in the "Hat Band" drop down. The Cavalry Hat Bands that we have are ones we had made when we ran out of Originals. When they are gone, we will not have any more made. They come as a strip that needs to be sewn together at the ends and then placed on the hat. They DO NOT come in sizes.

U.S. M1895 Dress Cap for Officers - Spanish American War, 19th Century (1800s) Men's Hat
Officer's Cap
shown with optional Eagle Insignia
     Fine quality reproduction of the M1895 Dress Cap as issued to both officers and enlisted men. It is Dark Blue Wool with a worsted wool band. It comes with a Black Enameled Leather Visor that has a bound edge for both officer's and enlisted men. The enlisted cap has a Leather Chin Strap with buckle and the officer's cap has a Gold Bullion chin strap. Both come with Eagle Side Buttons and have two grommets on each side of the top for ventilation.

     The Enlisted Cap: was worn plain, without any insignia.

     The Officer's Cap: was worn with the Officer's Embroidered Eagle Cap device (Insignia), as shown. The Eagle Cap Device IS NOT included with the cap, but can be add to your purchase for an additional amount. When purchased with the cap it is supplied loose, but can also be sewn on for an extra charge.

     Note: We currently do not have a supplier for this hat. If a new supplier becomes available in the future, we will offer it again at that time.

Confederate Naval Hat Badge
      This is the embroidered insignia. It is Gold and Silver Bullion. They are normally supplied loose (not attached to hat/cap), but can be sewn on, when purchased WITH a hat or cap for an additional amount.

    All ranks have the wreath and fouled anchor. Stars are added for Lieutenant and higher, Lieutenant: 1 Star, Commander: 2 Stars, Captain: 3 Stars and Flag Officer: 4 Stars. The stars and fouled anchor can be either Gold or Silver and the shape and color of the backing will vary.
